The awards are:<\/p>\n<p>The Gerold Richter Award: for outstanding contributions to soil conservation and protection within Europe. This is awarded to a person who has, over the period of his or her career, made significant and internationally recognized contributions to the investigation and\/or promotion of soil conservation in Europe. The contributions may be in research, practice, policy-making or any other activity deemed appropriate. The recipient should be a member of the ESSC even if this is not mandatory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Recipients:<\/p>\n<p>Silsoe 1996 Giancarlo Chisci (Italy)<\/p>\n<p>Valencia 2000 Roy Morgan (UK)<\/p>\n<p>Budapest 2004 Adam Kerte\u0301sz (Hungary) &amp; Anton Imeson (UK)<\/p>\n<p>Palermo 2007 N. Yassouglou (Greece)<\/p>\n<p>Thessaloniki 2011 Jose\u0300 Rubio (Spain)<\/p>\n<p>Moscow 2015 Michael Fullen (UK) &amp; Ildefonso Pla Sentis (Spain)<\/p>\n<p>Tirana 2019 Edoardo A. C. Costantini (Italy)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The ESSC Young Person\u2019s Award for the understanding and promotion of soil conservation in Europe.
